A Taste of Art 2015 Exhibition

Had two images selected for the A Taste of Art 2015 Exhibition. The exhibit will be on display at The Dairy Center For The Arts in Boulder Coloardo from June 18th through July 12th, 2015.  There will be an Opening Reception on Saturday the 20th of June, from 3 pm to 7 pm. The exhibit venue, The Dairy Center for the Arts, really did begin its life as a dairy!

Food is universal.  We all need nourishment through food (and through art too.)  Boulder’s “foodie” culture creates a rich environment for all types of culinary exploration.  We have excellent restaurants, numerous farmer’s markets, community gardens, a strong locavore culture, many organic growers, and increasing numbers of food industry entrepreneurs.
A Taste of Art is about food, any way you want to look at it. The exhibit will show original art in multiple mediums.  It is open to living artists of all ages, who within the United States.
“Art related to food” is up to you to create. It might show growing, harvesting, preparing, enjoying, sharing, or celebrating. It might be protest art. It might be a classical still life or a cutting edge work using unexpected methods and materials.  It might be cheerful or ravenous or angry or funny.  Snack food, comfort food, ethnic food, kid food, your favorite food, “bad” or “good” food? It is all up to you, the artist.  What do you want to express about food?

About the Dairy Center
Founded in 1992, the Dairy Center for the Arts is a multi-disciplinary non-profit cultural arts organization housed in the historic Watts-Hardy Dairy building, which once operated as a dairy storage and processing plant. Since 1997 when The Dairy’s 3 galleries were built, the organization has grown in recognition throughout Colorado, the United States and internationally. In addition to the galleries, The Dairy is home to 3 live performance theaters, an art house cinema, 3 dance studios, several music studios and classrooms, and 15 premier resident arts organizations. In 2014, The Dairy was visited more that 200,000 times by patrons who came to experience visual art, artists’ talks,  dramatic theater, poetry, live music, dance and film and attend classes, workshops and seminars.
