A Signature Celebration of Phoenix’s Arts and Culture, this year is the 29th Annual Art Detour, the event that helped launch the First Friday Art Walk. Trolley’s will be running Friday night, and 11am – 5pm on Saturday and Sunday. Click here for a map.

Best Little Art Detour Show In Arizona

Above is an image of the “Best Little Art Detour Show in Arizona” from the Herberger Gallery @ Arizona Center. The exhibit includes 65 pieces of art from 13 different artists, curated by A O and Connie Tucker. All artwork is square (It’s hip to be square), and between 8 x 8 to 12 x 12. The opening reception is Friday, March 17, 6 – 9pm.

The gallery is curated by Connie & A O Tucker and is part of the Herberger Theater Center. The Herberger Theater Center was built in 1989 and is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization whose mission is to support and foster the growth of performing arts in Phoenix as the premier performance venue, arts incubator and advocate.

Visions Exhibit – Herberger Theater Art Gallery

Visions Exhibit – Herberger Theater Art Gallery

We are excited to have our artwork on display at the Herberger Theater Art Gallery during the month of May!

The Tucker Tucker Dual Solo Exhibit will be on display at the Herberger from May 6th to May 31th 2016. We will be showcasing over 40 pieces of our artwork during the exhibit. Matted artwork will also be available. A 3rd Friday Artist Reception has been added, and is open to the public this Friday, May 20, 2016 from 5:30 – 8:00 pm. The Herberger Theater Art Gallery is located at 222 E Monroe Street, Phoenix, AZ 85004. Parking is available for $6 at the Arizona Center (Fillmore and 5th Street). Purchase validation at the Herberger Theater Box Office the evening of the opening. There will be live music by guitarist Bill Sheldon from 6:00 – 7:30 pm. For a preview of the exhibit, click here.

The Herberger Theater

The Herberger Theater was built in 1989 to support and foster the growth of performing arts in Phoenix as a performance venue and arts incubator. Each year, approximately 120,000 patrons, including 30,000 school-aged children share the unique experience of live performing arts.

“Amber Waves” was selected, and you are invited! Artlink’s Opening Reception for it’s 17th Annual exhibition at the Oasis on Grand is on October 15th, 6 to 10 pm. The show will remain in place for Third Friday, October 16th, from 6 to 10 pm.

 

 

Artlink’s 17th Annual Juried Exhibition presents the work of seventeen exceptional Arizona artists. A panel of three jurors from the Arizona arts community chose the exhibition pieces from over fifty submissions.

This year’s jurors included Phoenix artist John Tuomisto-Bell, Bentley Projects owner Bentley Calverley, and ASU Art Museum Chief Conservator Dana Mossman-Tepper.

The 17 artists featured in this 17th annual show are Julie Anand & Damon Sauer, Chris Boyd, Carlos Encinas, Page Filson, Valerie Hunt, Sam W. J. Johnson, Ann Langlois, Ann Lillqvist, Harold Lohner, Dan Nearing, Jill Roig, Chris Scott, Lacey Shelton, Lucretia Torva, A.O. Tucker and Joan Waters

Artlink 16th Annual Juried Exhibition – Third Fridays

Tonight is the last night (6 – 10 pm) for Artlink’s 16th Annual Juried Exhibition at The IceHouse in their White Column Gallery. The Icehouse, known historically as Constable Ice & Fuel, began operations in 1920 as an icehouse, manufacturing 300lb ice blocks for use in the food industry.

The Art Exhibition has the work of twenty-six Arizona artists. A panel of three jurors from the Arizona arts community chose the exhibition pieces from over fifty submissions. This year’s jurors included Phoenix Art Museum Director, Jim Ballinger; Phoenix artist, Randy Slack; and avid art supporter, former gallery director, and downtown community advocate, Louise Roman.

The twenty-six artists featured in the exhibit are AztecSmurf, Malena Barnhart, Chris Boyd, Ryan Carey, Samuel Dahl, Mary Helsaple, Jeff Jones, Maggie Keane, Peter Brian Klein, Lindsay Kraemer, Constance McBride, William Mullins, Lisa O’Riley, Sandra Ortega, Rockford Orvin, Amanda Phipps, Alicia Robles, Julio Rodarte, Jill Roig, Patricia Sannit, Stacie Schimke, Ingrid Shults, Edward Taylor, Lucretia Torva, A.O. Tucker, and Joan Waters.

Tonight is also Artlink’s Third Fridays from 6 – 10 pm.

Artlink 16th Annual Juried Art Exhibition at The IceHouse

Two of my photos were selected by Artlink Phoenix (Artlink FaceBook Link) to be part of their 16th Annual Juried Exhibition at The IceHouse. The exhibition will be on display for First Friday, September 05th, through Third Friday, September 19th. The IceHouse is located at 429 W Jackson Street, Phoenix, AZ 85007. There will be an Opening Reception on September 04th, 6 – 10 pm. The reception is open to the public.

Below are the two pieces of artwork I will have on display. The first one is “Left The Station”, under that is “Ironman II”.

One of my photos was selected by Artlink to be displayed at the Refresh Art Exhibit at CityScape from August 11th through September 26th. The exhibit is located at 1 East Washington Street, Phoenix, AZ 85004.

Below is the photo “Kiwi Slices” that will be on display at CityScape Phoenix. The image was captured on 08/23/2013 (photo info: 90mm, 0.6 sec, f/14, ISO 400). The image was printed using an Epson Pro 3800 on Epson Ultra Premium Photo Paper Luster 17 x 22 Professional Paper using Epson UltraChrome K3™ ink technology.
