White Rooster Portrait

The Rooster image was captured from the Wildlife World Zoo, Aquarium & Safari Park located in Litchfield Park Arizona. The park has Arizona’s largest collection of exotic and endangered animals, with more than 600 separate species. The Elote Cafe in Sedona also currently has the “White Rooster Portrait” on display, where it is called “El Gallo Sabio” (The Wise Rooster).  It was also part of our Derivatives Exhibit at the Herberger Gallery @ Arizona Center.

Museum Box™

The Wise Rooster is printed using archival ink (Dark Storage Permanence Ratings well in excess of 200 years and over 400 years for black & white) and printed on Epson Velvet Fine Art paper (100% cotton rag for archivability). Each print is mounted to a ultra-smooth kaolin clay ground surface, which is archival and acid-free. The 2 inch side panels are made from sustainable forest products and stained to complement the image. Each box is signed and hand numbered on the back. The Museum Box™ can hang on a wall or sit on a shelf. No glass or glazing is put between you and the art (only a protective UV coating), allowing you to see the beauty of the rag paper.

All artwork on www.AOTucker.com is available on a Museum Box™, currently as small as 6 x 6 or as large as 30 x 60.

Candid Photography Exhibit – Opening Reception

10/22/2015

Candid Photography Exhibit – Opening Reception

The Herberger Theater‘s Opening Reception for it’s Candid Photography exhibit at the University Club of Phoenix is now on October 22nd, 5:30 to 7 pm. Please note this is the new date, originally the reception was for 10/08.

HerbergerCandidInvite1

My wife Connie and I are co-curators for the exhibition. The show is from October 8th thru December 1st at the University Club. Formerly a private residence, University Club of Phoenix still maintains the beauty of a vintage 1920’s home. The club hosts breakfast meetings, luncheon programs, private dinners, weddings, seminars and holiday parties.

Candid Photography

The theme we selected for this exhibit is candid photography.

A candid photograph is a photograph captured through motion mostly, without creating a posed appearance. This is achieved by avoiding prior preparation of the subject and by either surprising the subject or by not distracting the subject during the process of taking photos. (1)

This exhibit, open only to photography is meant to display the opposite of today’s selfie culture. An example of this style may best be seen from the master of candid photography, Henri Cartier-Bresson, famous for the term, “The Decisive Moment”. This exhibit will feature works of photography only.
