My photography “Bird On A Rock Art” was select as one of the 25 finalists for the 8th Annual Arizona Highways 2015-16 Photo Contest. Winner’s images will be published in the September issue of Arizona Highways magazine.
Bird On A Rock Art
The image was captured on November 27, 2015 at 7:49 AM during a trip to Saguaro National Park located in southern Arizona on the outskirts of Tucson. The petroglyphs are from the Signal Hill Picnic Area in the Western District of Saguaro National Park. The rock art was created by the prehistoric Hohokam people.
Last year my photograph “Five Point Star” was select as one of the AZ Highways finalists.

Today my “Pronghorn Gaze” photo was selected as Arizona Highways PHOTO OF THE DAY. The Pronghorn image was captured near Seligman on May 24th 2015.
The pronghorn is the fastest land mammal in the Western Hemisphere, built for maximum predator evasion through running. The top speed is hard to measure accurately and varies between individuals; it can run 35 mph for 4 mi (56 km/h for 6 km), 42 mph for 1 mi (67 km/h for 1.6 km), and 55 mph for 0.5 mi (88.5 km/h for .8 km). It is often cited as the second-fastest land animal, second only to the cheetah. It can, however, sustain high speeds longer than cheetahs.
